The whole purpose to what we're doing is not only to get to one specific place, do our speaking, and leave right away. It's more along the lines of skateboarding and biking across the provinces, meeting new people and interacting with them as we're going between destinations. Once we're there, we do our speaking, and then we stay for some extra time, and depending on the time, we may even stay the night and just talk to some of the youth and parents, and have a few friendly conversations. Our cause isn't only meant to be us speaking, but also to inspire some of the youth who we've spoken to, to come along with us, and listen in on some more of our speakings, and even do some speaking of their own, if they feel comfortable enough with it.
As well as speaking to and teaching the youth what we can, we'd also love to hangout and learn some new things ourselves. If someone we meet along our trips has any type of talent what-so-ever that none of us know, then we'd love to stick around a little and try learn it, if the person is willing to try and teach it. If someone has anything inspirational that they'd like to share with us, then we'd be more than happy to sit and listen to it. If you're comfortable enough, then come to one of our speakings and come up to the mic half way through, we'll be having 1 hour open mic sessions between speakers, just so people can share their stories, and get a little bit off of their chest. We're also interested in seeing any forms of art that someone may have.
Also, our sessions are open to all ages, so parents feel free to drop in and bring your younger children as well if you'd like, and we'll try and see if we can set up some activities for them to do during the speaking sessions. If you're interested in coming, speakings are free! (Unless we're short of food and water, in which case we'll only be charging $5/adult, $2.50/teens between 12-18, and children under 12 get in for free.)
Thank you all for the rare payment understanding, as well as the support! We hope to see you all soon!
